In a landmark move to accelerate the growth of Pakistan’s digital and creative sectors, the Ignite National Technology Fund, under the Ministry of IT & Telecom, has officially partnered with HUM Network to establish the Center of Excellence in Gaming & Animation (CEGA). This visionary initiative aims to harness the country’s vast creative talent and position Pakistan as a global player in the gaming and animation industries.
The initiative was formalized during a contract signing ceremony held at the Ministry of IT & Telecom. The event was attended by Federal Minister Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, top ministry officials, Ignite CEO Mr. Rafique A. Buriro, representatives from HUM Network Limited, and other dignitaries.
Empowering Innovation & Talent
CEGA is designed to be more than just a training center—it will be a national innovation hub with the goal of:
- Incubating 200 startups over the next five years, providing them with mentorship, funding, and international exposure.
- Training 10,000 individuals in high-demand fields like gaming, animation, and interactive content creation through workshops and specialized programs.
- Offering a cutting-edge co-working space with 100 free seats, fostering collaboration among young developers, animators, and digital entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the ceremony, CEO Ignite Mr. Rafique A. Buriro emphasized that CEGA will provide the infrastructure, tools, and training necessary to prepare Pakistani youth for global success. He highlighted CEGA’s alignment with the government’s broader vision to develop Pakistan’s digital and creative economy.
As part of Ignite’s national strategy, CEGA will complement the work being done at National Incubation Centers, R&D projects, and other tech-focused initiatives. Startups will not only gain access to modern technology and mentorship but also opportunities to tap into international markets.
Meanwhile, students and trainees will acquire job-ready skills and a globally competitive mindset—critical in industries that are rapidly expanding across the globe.
