Breaking News: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will begin admissions from Matric to PhD programs starting January 1, 2026, allowing students across Pakistan to complete their education from home.
This year, AIOU is also offering admissions in the Matric Science group, which is expected to increase the number of applicants. The university is based in Islamabad, with regional offices operating in major cities, including Karachi, to facilitate teaching and student support.
Fees are very affordable, and for needy students who participated in the previous semester, fee waivers will also be available starting January 1.
For the Autumn 2025 semester, students’ assignments have been uploaded on the CMS portal. Remaining assignments are being processed, and students are advised to send their assignments to their tutors next year.

AIOU offers programs including Matric, Intermediate, BA, BCom, BS, BBA, BEd, and more. Results are expected to be announced by mid-January, after which students can download their marksheets from the CMS portal.
Classes on the AIOU LMS portal are ongoing, but attendance is not mandatory. However, students must complete online quizzes and MCQs to fulfill exam requirements.
