Pakistan star batter Babar Azam has matched a significant Twenty20 milestone previously held by India’s Virat Kohli, equalling the record for the most 50-plus scores in T20 matches when batting first.
The achievement came during a Big Bash League (BBL) match for the Sydney Sixers against the Sydney Thunder at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Babar scored 58 runs off 42 balls, bringing his total of 50-plus first-innings scores in T20 cricket to 63, the same number Virat Kohli recorded in his career.

Babar reached this landmark in fewer innings than Kohli, showcasing his sustained consistency in the shortest format. His innings included a blend of classical drives and controlled aggression, helping the Sixers post a strong total.
