Gold prices in Pakistan dropped significantly, bringing the per-tola rate close to Rs. 5.2 lakh as international bullion markets continued to decline.

According to market data released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold per tola decreased by Rs. 1,800 to Rs. 522,762 in the local market. The drop reflects the ongoing downward trend in global gold prices.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold fell by Rs. 1,543, settling at Rs. 448,184. In recent days, gold prices have fluctuated sharply, with the per-tola rate previously standing above Rs. 5.4 lakh before the latest correction in the market.

The international bullion market also experienced a decline, with gold prices falling by around $18 to about $5,000 per ounce. Analysts say global economic uncertainty, currency movements, and shifts in investor sentiment have contributed to the recent downward pressure on precious metal prices.

Meanwhile, silver prices also dropped, with the per-tola rate decreasing by Rs. 100 to Rs. 8,441 in the domestic market. The latest decline highlights the volatility in the precious metals market, which continues to react quickly to global financial developments.

Market experts say gold prices in Pakistan typically follow trends in international markets, meaning further changes in global bullion rates could continue to impact local prices in the coming days.
