Annually about 29,000 people receive transplants, but unfortunately one person dies every hour while waiting for an organ to become available. Apple announced on tuesday to partnership with Donate Life America and offer an organ donation app when the new iOS 10 will become available this fall. With a few taps of a button,iPhone users will be able to register for this program.According to the company this app will help speed up the organ donations to about 120K people currently waiting for some organ or tissue transplant.Users will be able to make organ donations by signing up,automatically entering their information in the National Donate Life Registry, being managed by Donate Life America. With this new app Apple and Donate Life America are hoping and aiming that this electronic registry will help in connecting with donors and patients more quickly, while delivering it to patients on time.Apple’s Health app stores the user’s health and fitness data in an arranged single place. Which includes a medical ID that provides important information, such as allergies, medications, blood type. The organ donation app is Apple’s latest step in broadening the reach of its healthcare apps, which represent a growing market for mobile providers. The company earlier this year launched CareKit and ResearchKit, which allow iOS developers to create different forms of medical apps to help doctors and patients communicate, and to help diagnose a number of different medical conditions, including Parkinson’s, cancer, heart disease and diabetes.
