Apple’s device in the AirTag has indeed been in the news in more recent times due to the fact that the product has been associated with various illegal activities. The case has in fact been made that the product is in the center of use with respect to criminal minds, even though an updated user guide has been put forward by the company in order to help safeguard users of the product. And now, Apple has taken yet another step as it has gone on to announce a series of changes which are aimed at frontally attacking the misuse of Airtags – as this rollout is spread throughout that of 2022.

Of course the AirTags were released just last year and came about with greater reach as well as greater capabilities when compared with some of the other devices that boasted the same purposes. The product, when combined with Find My app, provide a connected ecosystem of iPhone users and help them greatly in finding and tracking their device.

And so, this has then meant that the Airtags have been greatly used by criminals for the purposes of theft, stalking as well as other forms of illegal activities. In a statement then, Apple has indeed acknowledged the fact that individuals can in fact be on the receiving end of unwanted tracking alerts for a large number of benign reason, while it has also since seen reports of bad actors attempting criminal and malicious use of the device.

Apple has also since claimed that it will be providing greater security for the users of Airtags and will also provide the users with safety warnings in order to help guard such users again further unwanted tracking. This all will then come in the form of an update, which will then of course help to kickstart all the above changes and all the steps that Apple will take in order to ensure greater security.
