Interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar. Additionally, Naqvi has been nominated for the governing body of the PCB, following the acceptance of the resignation of Zaka Ashraf from his roles as a member of the government body and head of the management committee.
Although a formal notification is pending, Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed the development in a statement to the media, expressing his commitment to steering national cricket in the right direction.
Reports indicate that elections for the PCB chairman’s position will be held within the next two weeks. In the previous week, Zaka Ashraf had resigned from the chairman’s position on the PCB Management Committee and as a member of the Board of Governors (BoG), sending his resignation to Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar. Zaka Ashraf had taken over as the head of the Management Committee from Najam Sethi on July 6, 2023.
