Infinix has just unveiled its latest lineup, the Infinix Note 40 series, which boasts impressive specifications at a budget-friendly price point. Among its standout features is support for magnetic wireless charging, akin to Apple’s MagSafe, though it requires a compatible phone case for functionality.

The series comprises the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G, Note 40 Pro 5G, Note 40 Pro, and Note 40. Notably, the Pro+ model marks a new addition to Infinix’s lineup, featuring MediaTek’s Dimensity 7020 SoC, a 6nm chip paired with up to 12 GB of RAM (expandable via software) and storage options of up to 256 GB.
The Pro+ model sports a curved 120Hz AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution and peak brightness of 1,300 nits. The display curves at a 55° angle and supports 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, as well as 10-bit color depth.

Equipped with a triple-camera setup, the Pro+ boasts a powerful 108MP primary lens with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and up to 3x in-sensor zoom capability. However, it does not support 4K video recording. Additionally, it features two 2MP auxiliary modules and a remarkable 32MP front-facing camera for high-quality selfies and video calls.

The Note 40 series is powered by Infinix’s first in-house power management chip, the Cheetah X1, which manages charging and safety protocols. With a 4,500 mAh battery, charging speeds are rapid, reaching 50% in just 12 minutes, and the battery is rated for up to 1,600 cycles. Notably, 5 minutes of charging provides 3 hours of gaming or nearly 7 hours of video playback.
The magnetic charging system, named MagKit, supports both wireless and reverse wireless charging but necessitates the use of a special case. For gamers, Bypass Charging 2.0 sends power directly to the power motherboard.
The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G starts at $310 and comes in Vintage Green and Obsidian Black color options.
Meanwhile, the Note 40 Pro 5G shares many features with its Pro+ counterpart, including the Dimensity 7020 chip, a 108MP main camera, and a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display. However, it offers 8 GB of RAM (expandable) and up to 256 GB of storage. Charging speeds are limited to 45W via wired charging but reach 20W wirelessly through MagKit. The device packs a larger 5,000 mAh battery.
Running on XOS 14 atop Android 14, the Note 40 Pro 5G promises 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security patches. It is priced at $290 and is available in Vintage Green and Titan Gold colors.
