Nadeem’s second throw, a stunning 90 meters, had already broken his previous record set at the World Athletics Championships, showcasing his remarkable progress and dominance in the sport.

During his third attempt, Nadeem threw 88.72 meters, slightly below his earlier mark but still reinforcing his lead. His commanding performance throughout the event positioned him perfectly to secure the Olympic gold.

The top 12 athletes advanced to the final, with five out of six throwers from Group B qualifying directly. Nadeem, considered Pakistan’s brightest star in athletics, had previously won a silver medal at the 2023 World Championships and a gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. This victory is a landmark achievement for Pakistan, earning the nation its first individual Olympic gold and its first individual medal since 1988.

Nadeem’s historic triumph has elevated him to the status of a national hero, inspiring future generations of Pakistani athletes. In his fourth throw, Nadeem recorded 79.40 meters as he edged closer to Olympic glory.

This victory is particularly significant as Pakistan had not won an Olympic medal since 1992, when the national hockey team claimed gold 32 years ago. Nadeem’s success marks a new chapter in Pakistan’s Olympic history and is a source of immense pride for the nation.
