Violent Protests Erupt in Twin Cities, Resulting in Death of Islamabad Police Officer
Violent protests in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have claimed the life of a police officer and left several others injured. Officer Abdul Hamid Shah of Islamabad police succumbed to his injuries after being attacked by protesters linked to a prominent political party.
Shah, who was nearing retirement, sustained severe injuries while confronting the demonstrators. Despite efforts to save him at PIMS Hospital, he passed away from his wounds. The Islamabad police have announced that Shah’s funeral prayer will take place at the police lines. Shah, a resident of Abbottabad, joined the police force in 1988 and was looking forward to his retirement after a long and dedicated service.

Meanwhile, PTI has announced that it will continue its protests until further instructions from party leader Imran Khan. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur shocked many by retreating to KP House instead of leading the protests. PTI’s political committee has issued a stern warning, stating that serious consequences will follow if Gandapur is arrested. In such an event, the committee has decided that Azam Swati would take charge of the demonstrations.
Despite the government’s efforts to clamp down on PTI members, protests persist, with leaders expressing concerns over the treatment of the party’s lawmakers.
