The alleged rape case involving a private college student has taken a new turn as her family has denied any claims of sexual assault. They are now urging the police to initiate legal action against those propagating false allegations.

The girl’s family is calling for strict legal measures against the perpetrators of this misinformation campaign. During a visit to the student’s home, officials from the Punjab Home Department, the Secretary of Special Education, and the Secretary of Higher Education expressed their support for her and her family.

In light of the growing disinformation surrounding the case, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has established a seven-member committee within its Cyber Crime Cell. This committee is tasked with investigating those responsible for disseminating false narratives and inciting unrest related to the incident.

The family remains resolute in their quest for justice, aiming to hold accountable individuals who have exacerbated their daughter’s distress through these false claims.

In Lahore, students continue to protest over the accusations related to the alleged rape incident involving a security guard. The unrest began after social media reports suggested the assault occurred in a campus basement last week. Protests against harassment have spread to Lahore and other cities, leading to clashes with police that resulted in injuries to at least 28 students.

College students in Punjab’s provincial capital have pledged to persist in their demonstrations until effective safety measures are implemented on college campuses.
