Changes in Matriculation Examination System

In a major update, the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has introduced reforms in the marking scheme for Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies.

  • Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies marks increased from 50 to 100 each.
  • Islamic Studies will now be assessed in ninth grade.
  • Pakistan Studies will be examined in tenth grade.

Updated Syllabus and Textbook Printing Underway

The revised syllabus incorporating these marking scheme changes has already been updated in new textbooks. The printing process is currently in progress, ensuring that students and educators receive the updated curriculum before the new academic session begins.

Impact on Students and Academic Standards

Education officials believe that these revisions will strengthen students’ conceptual understanding of both Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies, ultimately enhancing academic performance and overall learning outcomes.

With these reforms in place, the Punjab Education Department aims to improve the quality of education and ensure a more structured evaluation system for students across the province.
