The Pakistani government is expected to announce revised petrol and diesel prices today, April 15, for the second half of the month, following recent shifts in global oil prices.
According to local media reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been presented with a proposal recommending a significant reduction in fuel prices. If approved, the price of petrol will drop by Rs8.27 per liter, while high-speed diesel (HSD) is expected to decrease by Rs6.96 per liter.

The proposal also outlines a Rs7.21 per liter cut for both light diesel oil (LDO) and kerosene oil.
If these recommendations are accepted, the new fuel prices would be:
- Petrol: Rs246.36 per liter
- High-Speed Diesel: Rs251.68 per liter
The final decision is now awaiting the approval of the Prime Minister and, if greenlit, the revised rates will be officially implemented tonight at midnight.
The expected price reduction aims to bring relief to the public, especially amid growing concerns over rising transportation and living costs across Pakistan.
