Authorities in Murree have ordered the closure of all educational institutions for two days due to severe weather conditions in the region. According to the Chief Executive Officer of the District Education Authority, schools will remain closed on Tuesday, August 19, and Wednesday, August 20.
The heavy downpour has caused rivers and canals to overflow, leading to water accumulation in low-lying areas such as Kahuta GPO Chowk and Mall Road. Landslides in Galiyat have also forced the closure of the main highway connecting Murree and Abbottabad, disrupting transportation and posing a serious risk to travelers.

Adding to the concern, officials have warned of a possible cloudburst, which could worsen the already critical situation. The local administration has issued safety alerts for both residents and tourists, urging them to avoid rivers, canals, and any areas prone to flooding or landslides.
The Deputy Commissioner of Murree has advised the public to remain indoors and to stay updated on weather alerts over the next 24 to 48 hours, as heavy rainfall is expected to continue.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have mobilized emergency services to respond to any incidents.
