Air travel in Pakistan may soon become significantly more expensive after a major increase in jet fuel prices, which have surged by 82 percent in the latest adjustment.
According to reports, the government increased jet fuel prices by Rs154 per litre, raising the cost from Rs188.93 to Rs342.37 per litre. Aviation experts warn that the sharp rise will likely push airline ticket prices higher, making travel more costly for passengers.
Analysts estimate that airline fares could increase by up to Rs5,000 per ticket as airlines pass on the higher fuel costs to passengers. Since fuel is one of the largest operational expenses for airlines, any major increase directly impacts ticket prices.

At the same time, petrol and diesel prices have also increased sharply, adding further pressure on transportation costs across the country. Economists warn that rising fuel prices could trigger broader inflation as higher logistics costs affect goods and services nationwide.
With fuel prices climbing rapidly, experts believe both domestic and international air travel from Pakistan could become more expensive in the coming weeks.
