Apple has officially launched full Urdu language support with the release of iOS 26, allowing users in Pakistan and other Urdu-speaking regions to set Urdu as the primary system language on their iPhones and iPads.
Urdu Interface Now Available to All Users
The Urdu localization feature, initially spotted in iOS 18.4 Beta 3, has now been rolled out publicly. With iOS 26, users can navigate the entire interface in Urdu, including:
- System menus
- Settings
- Notifications
- Built-in Apple apps
This feature is especially beneficial for Pakistan’s over 125 million Urdu speakers, offering better accessibility for first-time users, senior citizens, and those more comfortable in their native language.

🔧 How to Enable Urdu on iOS 26
To switch your iPhone or iPad interface to Urdu, follow these steps:
Settings → General → Language & Region → iPhone Language → Urdu
Your device will restart to apply the new language settings.
⚠️ Limitations to Urdu Support
While the interface now supports Urdu text, some features do not yet support the language, including:
- Siri voice commands
- Voice dictation
- Third-party apps (in most cases)
Apple has not announced a timeline for expanding Urdu support to these functionalities.
This move marks a major step in Apple’s efforts to localize iOS for global audiences, aligning with increasing smartphone adoption in non-English-speaking markets like Pakistan.
