A tragic boiler explosion at a chemical factory in Faisalabad’s Malik Pur area has resulted in the deaths of 16 people and left seven others injured, marking one of the deadliest industrial accidents in the region in recent years.
According to rescue officials, the blast was so powerful that it damaged surrounding homes, causing several roofs to collapse. One house adjacent to the factory caved in instantly, trapping an entire family — a couple and their two young children — beneath the debris. All four members lost their lives.
Authorities confirmed that among the deceased were six children, two women, two elderly individuals, and a factory worker. The intensity of the explosion scattered debris across the neighborhood, prompting immediate rescue efforts by both locals and emergency teams.

Residents rushed to help, pulling victims from the rubble before rescue teams arrived and continued the operation throughout the day. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving medical care.
Officials fear the death toll may rise, as more people could still be trapped under the collapsed structures. Search and rescue operations have been intensified to ensure no victim is left undiscovered.
The Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner has announced that legal action will be taken against the factory owners, raising serious questions about industrial safety standards, boiler maintenance, and regulatory oversight in the area.
