#BoycottPSL Surfaces as a Leading Trend in Pakistan After PSL Teams Up with KFC

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) made headlines on Friday by announcing KFC as its snack partner, sparking the #BoycottPSL trend on social media. Pakistani fans voiced their dissent over the decision, citing ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflicts and KFC’s association with Yum! Brands. Yum! Brands, which owns KFC along with Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and The Habit Burger Grill, has faced criticism for allegedly providing free food to Israeli soldiers involved in Palestinian oppression.

The PSL’s move was met with backlash due to the sensitive political climate and Pakistan’s stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Amid the controversy, the PSL also unveiled several other sponsors for the upcoming season, including TikTok, Osaka Batteries, and Tapal Danedar, alongside KFC. The league is scheduled to kick off tonight at 7:00 pm, with Lahore Qalandars taking on Islamabad United at Gaddafi Stadium. The opening ceremony promises a star-studded affair, featuring performances by renowned artists such as Ali Zafar, Aima Baig, Arif Lohar, and Noori, set to begin at 6:30 pm.
