A fierce hailstorm, accompanied by lightning and powerful winds, wreaked havoc across parts of Islamabad, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leaving five people dead and 19 others injured, according to ARY News.

The violent weather system triggered multiple accidents, including wall collapses and lightning strikes, which caused severe damage in several cities.

In Jhelum, three people — including a woman — lost their lives after the walls of their homes crumbled. In Kot Addu, a young man was killed by a lightning strike, while in Rawalpindi’s Ratta Amral area, a mosque wall collapse claimed the life of a child. Officials have reported that five of the injured are in critical condition.


Lightning Sparks Forest Fire and Collapses Homes

In Kotli, lightning sparked a forest fire, which spread rapidly due to strong winds. Meanwhile, in Chilas, heavy gusts caused house walls to collapse, resulting in the death of a child and injuries to two others.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir Face Severe Weather

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, torrential rains triggered flash floods that washed away roads, including sections of the Pak-Afghan highway in the Khyber district, leaving cargo trucks stranded.

In Mansehra, downed power lines caused a widespread blackout, while District Mohmand experienced light to heavy rainfall throughout the day.

In Azad Kashmir, cities like Bhimber, Kotli, and Mirpur were hit by heavy rain, leading to a sharp temperature drop and a spell of cold, damp weather.

Authorities are urging residents to stay cautious as more unstable weather is expected in the coming days.
