A Delta Airlines CRJ900 passenger plane overturned on a snow-covered runway at Toronto Pearson Airport, but all passengers were safely evacuated, with no fatalities reported.
Crash Landing Leaves Several Injured
According to international media reports, the Delta Air Lines commercial flight crashed and overturned while attempting to land on Monday afternoon. At least three individuals sustained serious injuries, while over a dozen passengers were hospitalized. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has launched an investigation into the incident.
Swift Emergency Response Prevents Fatalities
Officials from the Toronto Airports Authority confirmed that there were no deaths, expressing relief over the quick emergency response that helped prevent further casualties. Among the injured were a child, a senior citizen, and a woman in her 40s.

Dramatic Footage Shows Overturned Aircraft
Images and videos circulating online show the aircraft flipped upside down on the snow-covered tarmac, with fire crews spraying foam on the plane. Passengers were seen exiting the overturned aircraft, while onlookers filmed the scene.
Flight Delays and Weather Conditions
Although Toronto Pearson Airport reopened after some time, the crash caused major flight delays and cancellations, leaving many passengers stranded. Parts of Canada are experiencing extreme weather, including heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures, which have disrupted travel in recent days.
While initial reports suggested strong wind gusts might have caused the crash, Toronto Pearson’s fire chief, Todd Aitken, later confirmed that there were no crosswinds or wet runway conditions at the time of landing.
