Bollywood Labeled a “Craven Industry” by Fatima Bhutto Over Involvement in Ram Mandir Ceremony.
Stars from the Indian entertainment industry recently attended the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Prominent figures including Amitabh Bachchan, Chiranjeevi, power couples Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal-Katrina Kaif, as well as Rohit Shetty, Rajkumar Hirani, Ayushmann Khurrana, Madhuri Dixit Nene, and producer Mahaveer Jain, participated in the highly-anticipated event.
The star-studded guest list also featured Hema Malini, Rajinikanth, Pawan Kalyan, Shankar Mahadevan, Madhur Bhandarkar, Subhash Ghai, Shefali Shah, Vipul Shah, Randeep Hooda, Lin Laishram, Aadinath Mangeshkar, Anu Malik, and Sonu Nigam. Although Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff couldn’t physically attend, they conveyed their best wishes through video messages.

As India celebrated the consecration of the Ram Mandir, Pakistani writer Fatima Bhutto expressed her discontent on platform X (formerly known as Twitter) regarding the celebrity presence at the event. Sharing a link to an NDTV article covering the ceremony, Bhutto referred to Bollywood as a “craven industry” and criticized the stars for celebrating the destruction of the Babri Masjid.
In a tweet, she wrote, “Bollywood is a craven industry. To see its stars dolled up to celebrate the destruction of the Babri Masjid and clicking selfies to cheer the hateful politics of the BJP is sickening.” The Supreme Court of India had ruled in favor of Hindus on November 9, 2022, regarding the demolition of the Babri Masjid, awarding the disputed land where the Mughal-era mosque stood for centuries to Hindus for the construction of a grand Ram temple.
