SNGPL Cracks Down on Gas Theft: 430 Illegal Connections Disconnected

In its ongoing campaign against gas theft, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has disconnected 430 illegal gas connections across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad. The operation has resulted in fines totaling Rs 2.5 million.

Crackdown by Region

  • Lahore:
    The regional team disconnected 33 illegal connections and 4 for compressor usage, imposing fines amounting to Rs 0.66 million.
  • Faisalabad:
    13 illegal connections were disconnected, with fines totaling Rs 0.14 million.
  • Sheikhupura:
    9 illegal connections were cut off, and fines worth Rs 1.18 million were levied.

  • Multan:
    50 illegal connections, along with 2 related to compressor use, were disconnected.
  • Bahawalpur:
    The team disconnected 34 illegal connections and 7 related to compressor use.
  • Karak:
    A significant operation saw 271 illegal connections disconnected, and 5 individuals were arrested for gas theft.
  • Sahiwal:
    4 illegal connections were disconnected, with fines amounting to Rs 0.38 million imposed.
  • Gujranwala:
    The team cut off 2 illegal connections and 1 compressor-related connection, imposing fines of Rs 0.18 million.
