Google has launched Gemini on Google TV, introducing a new way for users to interact with their television screens. Unlike traditional voice commands, Gemini allows natural, flowing conversations, making the TV experience more engaging, personal, and interactive.
For years, Google TV has been at the heart of home entertainment, helping families discover shows, movies, and apps easily. Google Assistant enhanced this experience by responding to voice commands, whether it was finding a movie, turning on subtitles, or adjusting smart home devices. Gemini, however, takes this a step further, acting more like a conversational partner than a simple assistant.
With Gemini, family movie nights become easier. For example, you can ask, “Find me something to watch with my husband. I like dramas, but he prefers comedies,” and Gemini will instantly suggest titles suitable for both. It also helps catch up on series by providing summaries, reviews, or cast details without needing to search online.

Beyond entertainment, Gemini supports learning and personal growth. Families can use it for school projects, cooking ideas, or hobbies. A parent can ask, “Explain why volcanoes erupt to my third grader,” and Gemini will provide a simple explanation along with YouTube videos for a visual demonstration. This transforms the TV into a hub for both education and entertainment.
The rollout begins with the TCL QM9K series, followed by devices including Google TV Streamer, Walmart Onn. 4K Pro, 2025 Hisense U7, U8, UX models, and TCL QM7K, QM8K, X11K models later this year.
With over 300 million active Google TV and Android TV devices worldwide, Gemini marks a significant milestone in AI-powered home entertainment. Google plans to expand Gemini features further, making TVs even smarter and more interactive in the near future.
