The federal government has announced reductions in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel.

According to a notification from the finance ministry, the price of petrol has been decreased by Rs. 6.17 per liter, bringing it down to Rs. 269.43. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel has been lowered by Rs. 10.86 per liter, now costing Rs. 272.77. These new prices will be effective from August 1.

In addition, the government has also cut the prices of kerosene and light-diesel oil.

It is noteworthy that during the previous fortnightly review of petroleum prices, the government had increased the price of petrol by Rs. 9.99 per liter and high-speed diesel by Rs. 6.18 per liter.

Earlier, for the first fortnight of July, the government had also raised petroleum prices, with petrol increasing by Rs. 7.45 per liter and high-speed diesel by Rs. 9.56 per liter.
