The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved its decision on the registrar’s objections to a petition seeking parole for PTI founder Imran Khan in the £190 million reference.

Acting Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar heard the case and stated that the court would issue a suitable order regarding the plea’s admissibility. Advocate Sardar Latif Khosa, representing Imran Khan, argued that the registrar’s objection—calling the petition non-maintainable—should be decided by the court.

Khosa emphasized that justice must appear fair and noted that a parole request had already been submitted to the provincial government but remained pending. Justice Dogar observed that parole falls under executive authority, not judicial. Khosa responded that the legal distinction between parole and probation warranted court attention if the government failed to act.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur also appeared to support the petition.
