The Punjab government has initiated a groundbreaking scheme to promote solar energy usage across the province. Spearheaded by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the ‘Chief Minister Roshan Gharana’ program aims to distribute 50,000 solar home systems through a ballot system. Solar energy, abundant and clean, offers both heat and light. Through photovoltaic technology, sunlight is converted into electricity, making it a sustainable and eco-friendly energy source.
New Payment of 10,500 by BISP Tehsil Office
As part of the initiative, there is a provision for a new payment of 10,500 PKR through the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Tehsil Office.
Free Solar Panels for 50,000 Homes
Under this scheme, 50,000 households that consume up to 100 units of electricity per month are eligible to receive a free solar panel system. This system includes solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other necessary components, enabling households to meet their energy needs through solar power.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the CM Punjab Roshan Gharana Scheme 2024, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of Pakistan.
- Identification: A valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) is required.
- Property Ownership: Solar panel installation requires either ownership of the property or permission from the property owner.
Required Documents
Applicants need to provide the following documents:
- Scanned copy of the applicant’s CNIC.
- Property ownership documents or authorization letters from the property owner.
- Recent electricity bills.
