Apple’s newly launched iPhone Air is drawing widespread attention not only for its sleek design but also for its repairability. A recent teardown by iFixit highlights that the device is comparatively easier to repair than earlier iPhone models.
Although the phone still uses Apple’s signature pentalobe screws and glued display and back glass panels, its internal layout has been simplified. iFixit found that the components are smaller, well-organized, and come apart in a way that makes the disassembly process almost as simple as working with LEGO blocks.

One of the most surprising discoveries is the battery design. The iPhone Air uses the same battery as Apple’s MagSafe Battery Pack. According to Phone Repair Guru, this means users could remove the battery from the $99 MagSafe accessory and install it directly into the iPhone Air. This hack could make battery replacements cheaper and more accessible, provided the accessory remains available and users feel confident performing the swap themselves.
