Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has returned to Islamabad as diplomatic efforts to advance peace talks gain momentum following his brief visit to Oman.
According to reports, Araghchi arrived back in Islamabad on Sunday after traveling to Muscat, where he held discussions with Omani leadership regarding regional developments and ongoing mediation efforts to end the conflict.
His return comes at a critical time, as Pakistan continues to play a key role as a mediator between Iran and global stakeholders in efforts to stabilize the region and push forward ceasefire negotiations.
During his Oman visit, Araghchi engaged in high-level talks focused on reducing tensions and exploring diplomatic pathways to resolve the ongoing conflict. Oman has remained an important intermediary in Iran-related negotiations, often facilitating indirect communication between rival sides.

Despite ongoing diplomatic engagements, progress toward a comprehensive peace agreement remains slow. Earlier discussions in Islamabad failed to produce a breakthrough, highlighting deep differences between involved parties on key issues such as regional security and strategic control.
Araghchi’s return signals a continuation of diplomatic efforts, with further consultations expected between Iranian officials and Pakistani leadership. His visit is part of a broader regional tour aimed at building consensus and advancing proposals for long-term peace.
The renewed engagement underscores Pakistan’s growing importance as a diplomatic bridge in the crisis, even as challenges persist and uncertainty continues to surround the outcome of the peace process.
