Restrictions Return After Festival Ends

Following the conclusion of Lahore’s three-day Basant festival, authorities have reinstated the ban on kite flying across the city. Kite flying is now prohibited outside the officially permitted festival days.

Strict Action Against Violations

Law enforcement agencies have warned that strict action will be taken against individuals found flying kites after the festival. Authorities have also instructed vendors to immediately stop the sale and distribution of kites and kite strings.

Safety Remains the Top Priority

The ban has been reimposed to prevent accidents and injuries caused by dangerous kite strings, which have previously resulted in serious harm. Officials stressed that public safety and law and order remain the primary concerns.

Public Advisory Issued

Citizens, especially parents, have been urged to ensure children do not engage in kite flying now that the Basant celebrations have officially ended. The move is part of ongoing efforts to reduce risks and maintain order in the city.
