Ufone and Zong Network Services Suspended in Charrah Village for Several Days

Public Reaction Intensifies, PTA Urged to Take Immediate Action

Islamabad (Waqas Khokhar): In Islamabad’s suburban area of Charrah village, Ufone and Zong mobile network services have been completely suspended for the past several days, causing severe inconvenience to local residents. Due to the signal outage, users are unable to make calls, use the internet, or access other mobile services.

According to locals, this isn’t the first time that Charrah village has faced network issues — for several months, the area has been experiencing frequent service disruptions. However, this time the situation is more critical. Business owners are unable to contact their customers, and students attending online classes are without internet. Even in emergencies, it is impossible to reach anyone.

Residents have taken to social media to protest and express strong dissatisfaction with PTA and both telecom companies. Citizens say that despite the service suspension, the companies have neither issued any notifications nor provided any alternative solutions. “We are not living in some remote mountainous region, but in the federal capital. Yet we are treated as if we live in a deserted area,” they said.

So far, neither the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) nor the administrations of Ufone or Zong have issued any official statement regarding the situation. Citizens have condemned PTA’s silence, calling it deeply disappointing.

Locals have warned that if the network service is not restored immediately, they will escalate their protest by raising their voices through the media, social platforms, and demonstrations outside the relevant offices.
