Pakistan and Bangladesh have signed a series of bilateral agreements aimed at boosting cooperation in key sectors, including a visa waiver for diplomatic and official passport holders.

The agreements were finalized during the visit of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to Dhaka. The new accords span trade, culture, education, diplomatic training, media collaboration, and academic exchanges. According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, these developments will help institutionalize and enhance bilateral ties between the two nations.

This move comes after a similar visa exemption agreement signed between Pakistan and the UAE in June 2025, which came into effect on July 27.

During his visit, Ishaq Dar, along with Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, attended a reception hosted by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider. Dar met with a diverse range of Bangladeshi figures including political leaders, advisers, academics, journalists, artists, and retired officials.

He emphasized the shared cultural, religious, and literary history between the two countries and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to a constructive and forward-looking relationship with Bangladesh.
