Pakistan Post to Manage Electricity Bill Printing and Delivery Under New Agreement with DISCOs
Pakistan Post and the country’s electricity distribution companies (DISCOs) have reached an agreement, in principle, to transfer the responsibility of printing and delivering electricity bills across the nation to Pakistan Post.
A senior official from Pakistan Post confirmed that instructions have already been issued to all Postmaster Generals to coordinate with their respective DISCOs and finalize a distribution plan for the initial phase by July 25.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting on July 17. It was decided that the initiative will first be launched as a pilot project. If the trial proves successful, Pakistan Post will assume full responsibility for both printing and delivering electricity bills within six months.

During the pilot phase, postal staff—supported by DISCO employees—will deliver bills in one electric subdivision within each postal circle. This trial run aims to detect and address any logistical flaws, inefficiencies, or gaps in the system before scaling the operation nationwide.
The transition will take place gradually, allowing both Pakistan Post and DISCOs to refine the process for greater efficiency. As part of the transition, a comprehensive review of the postal workforce and delivery routes (postal beats) will be conducted to ensure timely and accurate delivery of bills to more than 50 million consumers—including residential, commercial, and agricultural customers.
