Petrol Price in Pakistan Gets Fresh Reduction
The federal government has announced a reduction in the petrol price in Pakistan by Rs. 5 per litre as part of the latest fortnightly fuel price adjustment. The revised prices will come into effect immediately following official approval from the Ministry of Finance.
According to the latest notification, the new petrol price has been set at Rs. 285.36 per litre after the latest cut. The move is expected to provide some financial relief to consumers dealing with inflation and rising living expenses.
High-speed diesel (HSD) prices have also been revised downward by Rs. 7 per litre, bringing the new diesel rate to Rs. 291.84 per litre. Diesel prices are closely monitored because they directly impact transportation, agriculture, and the cost of goods across the country.

Officials stated that the latest fuel price revision reflects changes in international oil prices and fluctuations in the exchange rate. Pakistan reviews petroleum prices every two weeks based on recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and relevant government departments.
The reduction comes at a time when global oil markets remain volatile due to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, and shifting international demand patterns.
Economists say lower fuel prices could help ease transportation costs and reduce pressure on inflation if international market conditions remain stable over the coming weeks. However, experts also warn that future price adjustments will continue to depend heavily on global crude oil trends and Pakistan’s fiscal commitments under IMF-related economic reforms.
The latest announcement has been welcomed by transporters, businesses, and ordinary consumers, especially as fuel prices had previously remained elevated for several months.
