Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Jeddah for a two-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, responding to an invitation from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Upon arrival on Thursday, he was warmly welcomed by Prince Saud bin Abdullah Al Jilawi, Governor of Jeddah, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, and other senior officials.
Following his arrival, the Prime Minister and the Pakistani delegation traveled to Makkah to perform Umrah. According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Sharif will hold talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, promoting the welfare of the Muslim Ummah, and addressing regional peace and security.
The Prime Minister is also expected to express Pakistan’s gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s constructive role in helping to de-escalate recent tensions between Pakistan and India, highlighting the importance of the Kingdom’s support for regional peace.

The visit reaffirms the strong, time-tested ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, rooted in shared faith, mutual respect, and strategic partnership. It also signals the leadership’s commitment to deepening economic and diplomatic engagement, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s development goals.
Last week, Prime Minister Sharif completed a diplomatic tour across four countries aimed at strengthening regional partnerships amid heightened tensions with India. The tour allowed Pakistan to personally thank key allies for their support and to promote peace and cooperation in the region.
