The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has confirmed that six different bids have been submitted for ownership of the Multan Sultans franchise, as interest grows ahead of the upcoming PSL 11 season.
Bidding Process Underway
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officially launched the sale process on January 14, 2025, inviting interested parties to submit applications and bids for the franchise rights. As part of this process, six bids were received, signaling strong commercial interest in securing the team.
The deadline for submitting technical proposals was initially set for January 30 but was later extended to accommodate more bidders.
Background: Why the Franchise Is Available
Multan Sultans became available for sale after former owner Ali Tareen announced his decision to step away from the franchise. His departure followed ongoing disagreements with the PCB.

With the existing ownership agreement set to expire on December 31, 2025, the PCB has indicated it will take temporary control of the franchise until a new owner is selected.
Impact of Recent Franchise Sales
The decision to move ahead with selling the Multan Sultans now — rather than waiting until a later season — is believed to be influenced by strong franchise valuations seen in recent PSL team auctions, where new teams attracted bids in the multi-billion-rupee range.
Upcoming PSL 11 Dates
PSL’s 11th season is scheduled to begin on March 26, with the player auction set for February 11.
