The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a clarification regarding the recent exchange between PTA Chairman Hafeez ur Rehman and Senator Aimal Wali Khan.

In an official statement released by the PTA, Chairman Hafeez ur Rehman expressed regret over the misunderstanding that occurred during the meeting of the Senate Committee for Underdeveloped Areas. He clarified that he had no intention of being disrespectful or using unparliamentary language.

According to the statement, the exchange with Senator Aimal Wali Khan was light-hearted and casual upon his return to the meeting. However, if anyone was unintentionally hurt by the remarks, the Chairman had already apologized before the committee.

Chairman Hafeez ur Rehman emphasized his respect for Senator Aimal Wali Khan and his family, and reiterated that he holds all senators in high regard.

He further stated that his performance and actions as a public servant are a matter of record. He attributed the negative campaigns on social media and in political circles against him to a misunderstanding. He called for moving forward with patience, positivity, and a constructive attitude in the interest of national unity.
