The revised Sindh Eid Holidays Schedule has created confusion after the provincial government suddenly changed the previously announced Eid-ul-Adha holiday plan across Sindh.
According to the updated notification issued by the Sindh government, Eid holidays will now be observed from May 26 to May 28, 2026, corresponding to 9 to 11 Dhul-Hijjah 1447 Hijri. The revised order replaces the earlier notification that had announced a four-day holiday period extending until May 29.
Earlier, the Sindh government had announced four public holidays for Eid-ul-Adha, unlike the federal government’s three-day schedule. The previous notification included May 26, 27, 28, and 29 as holidays for provincial government offices, local councils, autonomous bodies, and semi-autonomous institutions.
However, the latest corrigendum issued by the Services, General Administration & Coordination Department has now reduced the holidays to three days, superseding the previous notification. Officials advised departments and citizens to follow the revised schedule to avoid confusion regarding official operations during Eid.

The sudden revision has sparked discussion on social media, particularly among government employees and citizens who had already planned travel and Eid arrangements based on the earlier four-day announcement.
Meanwhile, the federal government’s Eid-ul-Adha holidays remain scheduled from May 26 to May 28, aligning with the revised Sindh notification.
Eid-ul-Adha 2026 in Pakistan is expected to be observed on May 27 following the official moon sighting announcement earlier this week.
