Spotify is taking personalized audio experiences to the next level with the launch of a new AI-powered podcast feature that can generate customized podcasts based on a user’s interests, listening habits, and taste profile.
The new feature, called “Personal Podcasts,” uses artificial intelligence to create unique podcast episodes tailored specifically for each listener. Spotify says the system analyzes users’ listening behavior, favorite genres, podcast history, saved content, and interaction patterns to deliver highly personalized spoken-audio experiences.
Users will reportedly be able to generate podcast episodes through prompts, allowing them to request content about topics they care about, including news, technology, sports, entertainment, productivity, or even niche interests. Spotify’s AI can then produce podcast-style audio summaries, discussions, and briefings designed around those preferences.
The company is also integrating its evolving “Taste Profile” technology, which gives Spotify deeper insight into user behavior across music, podcasts, and audiobooks. This AI-driven personalization engine helps Spotify understand moods, interests, routines, and content preferences to improve recommendations and generated content.

In addition, Spotify is introducing interactive AI tools that allow users to ask questions about podcast episodes, receive summaries, discover timestamps for specific topics, and explore related content directly within the app. Initially, some of these AI features will be available to Premium subscribers in selected markets before expanding globally.
Spotify’s latest AI expansion reflects the growing competition among major tech companies investing heavily in AI-generated media and personalized content experiences. The company believes AI-driven customization will significantly improve user engagement while making podcast discovery easier and more interactive.
The feature is currently rolling out gradually as part of Spotify Labs and selected beta programs. Spotify has not yet announced an official global release timeline for all users.
