Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, inaugurated Pakistan’s largest biogas plant at Gujjar Colony in Lahore. Naqvi commenced the production of compressed biogas at the plant by pushing a button. Following the unveiling of the plaque, Naqvi signed the inaugural plaque, including the date.

Furthermore, Naqvi planted a sapling within the biogas plant complex. The plant is capable of producing 600 cubic meters of gas daily, utilizing 1600 kg of dung. Additionally, it yields 16000 kg of organic fertilizer per day, which can be utilized by PHA and farmers. Naqvi toured various sections of the Gujjarpura Biogas Plant.

Speaking to the media post-inauguration, Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the significance of the Gujjar Colony biogas plant project. He noted that the plant’s completion would eliminate dung on roads while producing organic fertilizer from it. This fertilizer would be made available to the public, generating revenue for PHA.
