PTA WINS THE TELECOM FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2.0

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) football team has won the second Telecom Football League (TFL 2.0), beating the defending champions ‘Telenor’ on penalties by 1-1 (6-5) in the final played at the Mehran Football Ground, Islamabad.

TFL 2.0 showcased the sporting talent of professionals from ten teams of Telecom and IT fraternity of Islamabad in a friendly yet competitive environment. PTA football team smashed 19 goals during the tournament and remained unbeaten on the road to the final. Chairman PTA Dr. Syed Ismail Shah, Member (Finance) Mr. Tariq Sultan, Member (Compliance & Enforcement) Mr. Abdul Samad and a large number of spectators enjoyed thrilling semi finals and final matches. Mr. Abdul Samad, Member (Compliance & Enforcement), PTA presented the Champion’s Trophy and medals to the PTA football team and runners up Trophy and medals to the Telenor team.

The ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the league award was also presented to PTA’s forward Mr. Faisal Khan who performed exceptionally well and scored 11 goals in the league. Captain of the PTA football team, Mr. Yasir Yaqoob dedicated the trophy to all the PTA employees and vowed to bring more of such honors to the organization in future.

Chairman PTA congratulated the PTA football team for winning the prestigious TFL 2.0 and urged all the IT and telecom companies to organize more sporting events in the future. The tournament was organized to promote team spirit and sporting activities among the IT and telecom companies in Islamabad.
