PIA dismisses 3 employees on corruption charges
The PIA Management has taken another bold step and has demonstrated its ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy towards corruption by dismissing three of its personnel for issuing unauthorized boarding cards to a passenger. They had processed passenger Muhammad Akram through check-in formalities at Lahore Airport on a Toronto-bound PIA flight.
The PIA employees are Hammad Butt, Senior Passenger Services Officer, Asif Arzani Khan, Reservation, and Ticketing Officer and Sumaira Yasmin, Check-in Staff. Passenger Services Supervisor Zulfikar Daar has also been suspended.
FIA Immigration, Lahore has registered a FIR against the three PIA personnel. Both the male PIA employees are in FIA custody while the female PIA employee is on bail.

Jaffer, Chairman PIA and Mr. Shahnawaz Rehman, Managing Director, PIA, are making concerted efforts for the revival of the national flag carrier and are paying particular attention to various key areas of operations. They have instituted a ‘zero tolerance’ policy to completely eliminate corruption from the airline. Aligned with the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and supported by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Aviation, Shujaat Azeem, the top management is working tirelessly towards a culture of accountability and valuing quality customer service.
