Kickass Torrents KAT owner, Artem Vaulin from Ukraine just got arrested. Kickass Torrents
took over The Pirate Bay as the leading distributor of illegal copies of TV shows and
movies.The feds of United states found him via his IP address and is said to be in the
process of being deported.He has been charged with money laundering and criminal
copyright infringement.Vaulin made a purchase on iTunes and then immediately logged
onto the Kickass Torrents facebook page.Confirming that he is running KAT.The site
has stolen approx one billion in profits from the entertainment industry,according to
reports.Since the arrest,kickassTorrents site has been down and no word is yet out to
when it will be active again.
The Assistant Attorney General Leslie R.said on this achievement,
“In an effort to evade law enforcement, Vaulin allegedly relied on servers located
in countries around the world and moved his domains due to repeated seizures
and civil lawsuits. His arrest in Poland, however, demonstrates again that cyber
criminals can run, but they cannot hide from justice,”
