The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has officially addressed the recent social media rumours regarding an anticipated severe cold spell from January 12 to 15. Irfan Virk, Deputy Director of the Met Department, unequivocally dismissed these rumours, asserting no factual basis to support such claims.
Virk explained that the cold weather experienced in various parts of the country is primarily attributed to fog, causing a drop in temperature. He further elaborated that this trend is expected to persist in the upcoming days due to the prevalence of fog. The Met Department is actively monitoring the evolving weather situation.
