Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese recently announced the expansion of the 10-year frequent traveler visa scheme during the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit in Melbourne. This expansion aims to strengthen ties and promote tourism between Australia and eligible ASEAN countries as well as Timor-Leste.

Previously restricted to Chinese tourists, the 10-year frequent traveler visa scheme will now include citizens from ASEAN countries (Laos, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) as well as Timor-Leste. This visa allows visitors to stay in Australia for up to three months per visit, a privilege previously enjoyed solely by Chinese citizens.
