China’s Military Set to Attend Pakistan National Day Parade

Chinese armed forces are set to partake in Pakistan’s upcoming National Day military parade on March 23, as confirmed by Zhang Xiaogang, the spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense. The Guard of Honor from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will dispatch a contingent to Pakistan in mid-to-late March in response to an invitation extended by the Pakistani military.

This marks a continuation of the tradition, with Chinese troops having previously participated in Pakistan’s Day Parade back in 2017. Notably, military units from various other nations, such as Saudi Arabia, have also been involved in past editions of the event.

Preparations for the Pakistan Day Joint Services Parade have been underway since last month. The Ministry of Defence had previously reached out to ministries, divisions, and chief secretaries of the four provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, requesting lists of officials to be invited to the parade by February 15.

The event typically draws the attendance of high-ranking government and military figures, as well as representatives from foreign nations. Moreover, it garners significant public interest, with large crowds turning out to witness the spectacle.
