Google annual developer conference, I/O, has evolved beyond its developer-centric origins to become a platform for unveiling new services and occasionally hardware products. It has also emerged as a teaser showcase for upcoming Pixel devices, making it a cornerstone event on Google’s calendar, traditionally held in May.
This year’s conference maintains its significance, with Google announcing the event will take place on May 14. All sessions will be live-streamed online, primarily on YouTube, a platform owned by Google.

Initially, Google teased the conference’s release date through a logic puzzle spanning 15 levels. While some managed to decode the puzzle and discern the launch date, Google later opted for a straightforward announcement on social media, ending the playful mystery. Interestingly, the unveiling aligns precisely with the date two months after Google first published the puzzle.
The upcoming event is expected to heavily emphasize AI, reflecting Google’s steadfast commitment to the technology. AI will undoubtedly feature prominently throughout I/O 2024.
Regarding Google’s Pixel devices, their launch is not anticipated until at least October this year. As is customary for Google, teasers for the Pixel lineup may start appearing months before the official unveiling. There’s even speculation that Google might drop subtle hints about its upcoming Pixel devices during the next I/O conference.
