Pakistan announced that petrol prices will remain unchanged for the next two weeks, while diesel prices have been reduced by Rs1.77 per litre. The Finance Division released a statement late on Friday night, confirming that the price of diesel has been lowered to Rs285.56 per litre, effective until March 31.
Reports indicate that the price of kerosene oil has also been decreased to Rs188.86 per litre after a reduction of Rs1.35 per litre, while the price of light diesel has been cut by Rs2.12 per litre.

Currently, the government imposes a petroleum development levy (PDL) of Rs60 per litre on petrol. Additionally, consumers pay Rs5.69 per litre as IFEM (Internal Freight Equalization Margin), Rs7.87 per litre as OMCs margin, and Rs8.64 per litre as dealers’ margin.
Similarly, the government applies a PDL of Rs60 per litre on High-Speed Diesel (HSD). Those using HSD in their vehicles also incur Rs4.24 per litre as IFEM, Rs7.87 per litre as OMCs margin, and Rs8.64 per litre as dealers’ margin.
