Fortune smiled upon Karachi fishermen as they stumbled upon a remarkable catch of 700 rare Sawa fish, valued at approximately Rs 2 billion, near Keti Bandar.
In the fishing nets deployed near Keti Bandar, a significant haul of highly prized and uncommon “Sawa” fish has been captured.

According to Kamal Shah, spokesperson for the Coastal Media Center, a substantial catch of “Sawa” fish was made yesterday, with 700 specimens discovered in the nets of three fishing boats.
Meanwhile, Majid Khan, the technical advisor of WWF, noted that Sawa fish typically congregate to spawn during March and April. He expressed concerns regarding the species’ risk of extinction due to excessive hunting.
