Stricken with grief, the family reached out to the Pakistani embassy in Turkey, but the process of repatriating the bodies proved to be complex and financially burdensome. Consequently, they made the difficult decision to allow the Turkish authorities to lay their loved ones to rest in Turkey.

Ali Agha’s brother-in-law revealed that the family had relocated to Iran following his marriage, seeking refuge from the targeted violence against the Hazara tribe and facing financial hardships. Approximately three to four years ago, Ali Agha moved his family to Turkey in pursuit of a better life. Tragically, their hopes were dashed when their ill-fated boat sank off the Turkish coast.

Turkish authorities reported the recovery of 23 bodies from the tragic incident, underscoring the perilous risks faced by migrants seeking refuge and opportunities in distant lands.
