The federal government has allocated Rs. 4.06 billion for the Fulbright Scholarship Support Program (HEC-USAID) under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2025-26, according to official documents.

The Fulbright Program, jointly managed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is recognized as one of the world’s most prestigious academic exchange initiatives.

This program provides Pakistani students with the opportunity to pursue graduate and doctoral education in the United States. It covers a comprehensive range of expenses including tuition fees, living costs, travel, and research support.

The funding announcement comes just ahead of the federal government’s formal unveiling of the FY 2025-26 budget, scheduled for tomorrow.
